US Congressional District 6 (Walterboro, SC Event)

SC VFW Legislative Chair - 8/16/2024

Representative hopeful Duke Buckner is holding a Veteran Meet and Greet on September 5th at 6pm-8pm in Walterboro, SC. Entry is free and food will also be provided. This will give you a chance to meet the candidate and features Medal of Honor recipient Maj Gen James Livingston as the keynote speaker.

I spoke to Duke directly about the Major Richard Star Act and funding our planned State Veterans Nursing Homes. He was receptive and focused while we discussed the legislation. He is making veteran mental health initiatives and PTSG one of his platform issues.

I, like many of you, have had trouble getting in contact with Rep Clyburn when it comes to communicating veterans issues. Please share this with the comrades and auxiliaries if your posts are located there.

I am hoping we, as the VFW, can make a big showing at the event, let our voices be heard, and advocate for our veterans. Remember, nobody does more for our veterans.
